What it is

Funvilla is an indoor family-entertainment centre on Gage Avenue in Kitchener — the original 2018 location of what has grown into an Ontario chain. Inside is a large multi-level soft-play structure with slides, a trampoline zone for kids four and up, a ninja obstacle course, climbing walls, an arcade with prize tickets, a dedicated toddler area for the under-fours, and a small café. Private party rooms are the core of the business, with packages that handle set-up, play time and clean-up, and the venue runs summer and PD-day camps for five- to twelve-year-olds.

Why locals rate it

Funvilla fills the gap below the trampoline parks and VR arenas: it’s the venue for the four-, five- and six-year-old birthday where half the guests are still working out how stairs work. The soft-play structure is big enough that kids disappear into it for an hour, the toddler zone means younger siblings aren’t left on the sidelines, and the party rooms are genuinely private rather than a roped-off table. Parents like that the whole thing runs without them — the staff handle the room and the timing — and the pricing is reasonable against the other party venues in town, particularly on weekdays.

What to do first

Book a party room package rather than open play if you’re hosting more than six kids; it’s the difference between a party and a supervision shift. For a casual visit, weekday mornings are the calm window, and the trampoline zone empties out once school-age kids are back in class. Grip socks are required on the trampolines, so bring them or buy them there.

Insider tip

Funvilla sits on the same stretch of Gage Avenue as KW Escape, which makes it easy to run a split-age family day — little ones here, tweens and teens in an escape room — without moving the car. The café covers snacks, but a proper meal is better sought elsewhere.

Heads-up

This is a venue for small children, and it feels like one: bright, loud and busy on weekends, with a soundtrack of a hundred kids at once. Kids over about nine tend to be bored inside twenty minutes unless they’re on the ninja course, so it’s the wrong pick for a mixed-age party skewing older. Weekend party rooms book weeks ahead.
